These are the right questions to ask, but you will rarely come across a contractor or agency in the online education space that asks or answers any of them.

What they’ll talk to you about is generally limited to the execution of whatever project lives in their defined area of expertise, and they’ll confidently tell you that this is ALL YOU NEED in order to build the online offer you want…

That is until they get to the end of that project…at which time they’ll quote you on the NEXT thing you need…

Wait…what? I thought when I bought the previous thing it was the FULL thing…because that’s what you told me it was. 

Is this NEXT thing you want me to buy ALL that I need?

It’s a never-ending series of upsells that rarely ever get you to the outcome you wanted but didn’t know how to articulate – an AUTOMATED selling system that creates PASSIVE income for you daily…

But requires very little time or money from you weekly or monthly in an ongoing capacity to maintain that system.

As a starting place to identify what caliber of contractor or agency you’re already contracted with, or are considering working with, knowing the questions to ask is half the battle.

Ask them the following, and pay close attention not only to how they respond, but whether or not their friendly disposition towards you changes to agitation or defensiveness when you start asking tactical questions that they are generally not used to fielding from their customers and clients…

 

QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR CONTRACTORS:

  • What is their exact software stack is for the sales system they build for you, or recommend for you to build?
  • What is the specific consideration set that had them choose that exact set of software tools for their recommended sales system?
    • If they say “this is the software stack we always use…” ask them to explain WHY they use each one of those tools vs any of the other tools available on the marketplace
    • Mostly they won’t have a reason other than “it’s the best in class standard and EVERYONE uses this, so we do too…”
  • After the launch of your program, how many hours per week do they say it will take you or your team members to maintain and grow the sales system that they put in place for you, once it’s up and running?
  • How many team members do they say you will need in place to ongoingly manage their recommended sales system, once it’s up and running?
  • What are the job titles of those necessary team members, how / where do they recommend for you to source them, and how much do they say they will they cost you per month ongoingly?
  • Have them show you a live screen share of an example in one of their existing sales systems of what their segmentation process looks like for new subscribers, from the moment they enter the primary funnel
  • Have them show you a flowchart that clearly defines all aspects of the sales system they are building for you (which may or may not include multiple sales “funnels”), which should include all web pages, all automations, tagging, custom fields, email frequency and context
  • Do they have unique ad management processes customized for Facebook / Instagram and Youtube respectively, that take into consideration things like naming convention specific to each ad campaign, ad set / group, and individual ad, that they implement into or make available to your business when they implement your system?
    • If they say yes, ask them to show it to you
      • If they can’t or won’t show it to you, they probably don’t have it
    • If they say yes, also ask them to show you a live spreadsheet or dashboard where they do stage by stage conversion tracking and accurate attribution of prospects from the first ad click or form submission, all the way through the entire sales funnel
      • If they can’t or won’t show it to you, they probably don’t have it
    • If they say “We can’t show you, because we keep our tracking confidential for all of our clients, as we would if you were our client…” then you say “That’s fine, I understand that. Since you have a dedicated tracking process for each client, please show me your templated sheet that you spin up for each client, so I can see how and where your standard tracking takes place…”
      • If they can’t or won’t show you all aspects of the SYSTEM they will be using to track, measure and quantify your success, before you spend money with them…be leery of spending money with them

marlon & nick's STORY
